This White Paper, prepared by members of the Departments of Social Sciences, Foreign Languages and History, addresses the implications of the Arab Spring for the United States. The authors focus specifically on the challenges and opportunities inherent in the current unrest  and make concrete policy suggestions for the Department of Defense that should help guide decision makers as they respond to this highly dynamic and critical period.
